Retail Associate

Portland, Oregon | Sunday + Monday  | 9:30-5:30 | 16 hours | $18/hour

We’re looking for an experienced, friendly and confident Retail Associate to join our team at The Yo Store.

This is a great role for someone who loves independent retail, genuinely enjoys working with customers and is ready to take on more responsibility on the sales floor.

You’ll work closely with our Management Team and Lead Sales Associates, helping with the day-to-day running of the store while being a strong, experienced presence on the floor.

We’re especially looking for someone who wants to become a real part of our small team and is looking for a consistent, long-term retail position.

THE ROLE

This position is Sunday and Monday 9:30-5:30. Must be able to commit to weekly availability.

As our Retail Associate, you’ll be very customer-facing while also helping keep the store organized, stocked, looking great and running smoothly.

Responsibilities include:

• Creating a warm, friendly and knowledgeable experience for every customer

• Confidently selling across kids, women’s, home and gifts

• Opening and closing the store

• Supporting team members during shifts

• Keeping the store stocked and organized

• Restocking and monitoring inventory on the sales floor

• Making sure daily store tasks and checklists are completed

• Communicating store, customer or staffing issues to the Store Manager or ASM

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We’d love to meet someone who:

• Has previous retail experience, ideally in an independent or specialty retail environment

• Is confident with customers and genuinely enjoys selling

• Is reliable, organized and proactive

• Naturally notices what needs to be done and gets on with it

• Has a great eye for merchandising and presentation

• Is comfortable taking responsibility and leading a shift

• Works well as part of a small team

• Is calm and capable when the store gets busy

• Is interested in the brands and products we carry

• Can commit to weekend availability
